New Strictly Come Dancing Professional Mark Karmalita is a Maltese professional Latin American dancer, choreographer and international championship finalist who joined the professional cast of BBC Strictly Come Dancing in 2026.

Widely regarded as one of Malta’s most accomplished competitive dancers, Mark has represented his country around the world for more than a decade, earning success at many of the world’s most prestigious dancesport competitions.

Born and raised in Malta, Mark began dancing at an early age before progressing through the international competitive ranks. His dedication, technical precision and dynamic performance style saw him become a multiple-time Maltese National Latin Champion and one of the country’s leading representatives in international Latin American dancing.

Throughout his competitive career, Mark has represented Malta at major international dancesport competitions, including the Blackpool Dance Festival, the UK Open Championships and other prestigious European and World Latin competitions

Before joining Strictly, Mark also appeared on the Maltese version of Dancing with the Stars, where his choreography, charisma and teaching ability introduced him to television audiences.

In 2026, Mark achieved a lifelong ambition when he was announced as one of the new professionals joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing. Speaking about joining Strictly, Mark said:
