Julian and Balvinder found themselves in the dance off in movie week. We loved The Way They Looked Tonight as they Foxtrotted into movie week. The judges called it elegant charming and sophisticated. Just a little more relaxation in hold is needed. The decision to save the couple was unanimous as they live to dance another week.
Balvinder and Julian Hold ’em with their Quickstep in week 5 paying homage to the iconic Beyonce. All judges noticed an improvement in Balvinder and her confidence, now they want to see some improvement in frame and footwork. Lets see what Halloween week brings!
Julian and Balvinder faced another dance off in week 8 with their American Smooth to My Guy landing them towards the bottom of the leaderboard. The couple did enough to earn the privilege of dancing at Blackpool. Craig commended Balivinder’s storytelling and Anton loved her musicality but wanted to see more power. Can Balvinder match her charisma with confidence at Blackpool?
Julian and Balvinder relaxed into Blackpool with no dance off danger. Their Argentine Tango was purposeful and intense. Craig said that the style suits Balvinder, Anton loved the intensity and characterisation. Motsi advised Balvinder to look for the tiny details and Shirley called it “Moody and atmospheric”.
Julian and Balvinder were Right Back Where They Started as their Jive in week 11 saw them face another dance off. Surviving the split vote Balvinder made Strictly history as the first contestant to survive 5 dance-offs, a well deserved ticket to musicals week for the couple.
Julian and Balvinder were definitely Enough in musicals week. Balvinder epitomises perserverance and it paid off with an exquisite Viennese Waltz. Motsi was moved, gripping Shirley’s hand throughout, she came down to embrace Balvinder in a proud hug. Shirley concluded “I had chills, you’re a hero, beauty and charm.” Straight to the semi final and no dance off this week. We can’t wait until next week.
