Brendan was the first Pro to be crowned Strictly Champion, winning the first ever series with News Presenter Natasha Kaplinsky.
Brendan Cole grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand. He has danced since he was six, and moved to the United Kingdom when he was eighteen.
Before becoming a professional dancer specialising in Latin American, Brendan was a builder and roof layer. He lived with his mum, his older brother Scott (who teaches dance in London) and his younger sister Vanessa (who runs a dance school in New Zealand).
In 2017 Brendan is paired with Good Morning Britain news presenter Charlotte Hawkins.

In 1996 he met Camilla Dallerup, a former Strictly Champion, and they became a couple both on and off the dance floor. After four years competing together as amateurs they turned professional.
Once professional, Brendan and Camilla became the New Zealand and Asian Open Professional Champions and were semi-finalists at the International, UK Open, British Open and World Championships.
2005-2009 Brendan was on the judging panel for New Zealand’s version of Strictly with Craig Revel Horwood.
Brendan’s 2017 celebrity partner is Good Morning Britain news presenter Charlotte Hawkins. Anastasia’s big hits include; I’m outta love, One Day In Your Life and Left Outside Alone – all helping her clock up over 30 million sales, four headline tours and an MTV Europe Music Award
On joining Strictly Charlotte said ‘I cannot wait to be Strictly-fied, to have the strictly experience. The glitter, the fake tan, the glamour, bring it on. It’s going to be amazing!’
Last year Brendan partnered singer Anastasi and in 2015 Sky Sports news anchor Kirsty Gallacher.
Brendans past Strictly partners include; in 2014 Sunetra Sarker, Fiona Philips, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Victoria Pendleton, Jo Wood, Kelly Brook, Lisa Snowdon & Holly Valance.
Brendan Cole & Anton Du Beke are the only Professional dancers to have starred in ALL 15 series of Strictly!
