Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what the Strictly creators have to say
‘It’s an intense workout but because you’re concentrating on learning the steps and having fun dancing, you don’t notice how hard you’re working. What’s also exciting about it is you’re learning a skill as we teach the basic foundation of ballroom and Latin American dancing. You don’t even need to try and convince your reluctant partner to join you, as you’ll be working out alongside a whole class of like-minded people. You’ll get fit, boost your confidence, make friends and have a great time doing so.’
Strictly’s Natalie Lowe
‘The great thing about FitSteps is that it’s varied. Because of the differences in techniques and tempo of the dances, the postures are grouped together to create different effects on the body and achieve the results you want. There’s absolutely no way you’ll have as much fun pounding the treadmill as you will learning to Jive.’
Strictly’s Ian Waite
‘I had a great time when I was on the show but when I realised how much weight I’d lost, I wanted to explore the concept of getting fit through stepping. After speaking to some professional fitness colleagues and then reaching out to Natalie, it turned out that Ian had already been working on a similar concept, so after much discussion and development we joined forces and FitSteps was born.’
Olympic Swimmer Mark Foster

Acceptable shoes for our Dance Fitness classes include court shoes, aerobic shoes or jazz shoes/sneakers. They should have minimal tread on the sole and provide optimum cushion and support for dance-fitness classes. Running shoes are not ideal because they have a heavy tread on the bottom and are designed for forward movement (not sliding and pivoting)
Strictly no heels, flip flops, steel heels, toning trainers or toe caps please.
Most people tend to wear gym clothes, something you feel most comfortable in – light clothing, trainers, or pumps.
All Donahey’s FitSteps® classes last 55mins – unlike some other Fitness classes which just give you 40/45 minutes!
Our dance classes are especially designed for beginners, FitSteps® is so simple to pick up that whether you have dancing experience or you are just a beginner, you will be able to follow through the easy dance steps and sway along to the rhythm of the catchy and upbeat Latino Rhythms.
