Katya Virshilas and Klaus Kongsdal
Katya Virshilas is the latest professional dancer to join BBC Strictly Come Dancing, in the 2009 series Katya partnered cricketer Phil Tufnell all the way to week 9.
Ballroom and Latin dance champion, Katya Virshilas is most famous for choreographing Jennifer Lopez and Richard Gere in ‘Shall We Dance’ and of course performing the iconic tango with Antonio Banderas in ‘Take The Lead’.
Katya Virshilas is most-recently known for taming her celeb-partner, Phil Tufnell “The Cat,” and charming audiences with her fresh take on ballroom on the nation’s favourite dance contest, BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Katya’s new partnership with World Champion Ballroom Dancer, and star of Denmark’s Dancing With The Stars, Klaus Kongsdal, will create a brand new Latin and ballroom fusion dance show for 2010.
Katya & Klaus promise choreography splendour; in this new pairing they will create a ballroom and Latin dance spectacle that will electrify audiences with their combined award-winning talents – they are set to ignite our dance floor.
When it comes to professional ballroom this new duo will perform a creative take on dancing that will shake up the dance floor, bringing a mix of traditional elegance with a modern vibe. Their exclusive workshops promise to be exciting and invigorating for all.
