Strictly Come Dancing Live at Blackpool Tower

We were lucky enough to be invited to the recording of BBC Strictly Come Dancing live at Blackpool Tower on Saturday – what an amazing evening it was, plus after the show we went to meet all the stars – oh what a night….

The atmosphere in this stunning venue was electric, over 1,000 people were present to watch some breathtaking performances including of course the first perfect score of the series – well done Ali & Brian.

Blackpool Tower is certainly the most prestigous Ballroom in the UK, if not the world – it truly is awesome. We had great seats, just behind Zoe, James, Joe & Kristina. Sat so close to the stage, one thing that strikes you is the sheer power of the live Strictly Band, in such a perfect acoustic venue their sound is awesome and their singers so talented.

Paul Donaghey

Paul Donaghey is a highly experienced dance teacher and event organiser, having taught adults and children to dance for over 30 years across Manchester and Devon. He is the founder and director of Donaheys, one of the UK’s largest and most respected Ballroom and Latin dance schools.

Qualified with the IDTA (International Dance Teachers’ Association), Paul has dedicated his career to helping thousands of people discover the joy of dance — from absolute beginners to seasoned social dancers.

Alongside running Donaheys’ popular weekly classes and spectacular national dance weekends featuring stars from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, Paul regularly appears on BBC Radio Devon, sharing expert insights and commentary on all things Strictly and the wider world of Ballroom and Latin dance.

His writing and event updates reflect decades of hands-on teaching, industry knowledge, and a genuine passion for making dance accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
