West Coast Swing

West-Coast-Swing

Join us, and learn the most popular swing dance in the US “West Coast Swing” – the partner dance that’s modern, stylish, and is unbelievably fun!

West Coast Swing is a wonderful smooth, fluid style of swing, which is danced to all kinds of music: pop, rhythm & blues . Similar to Jive and East Coast Swing except that the music is at a much slower tempo and the style is very laid-back – dancers look as though they are gliding around the dance floor.

West Coast Swing is an easy to follow partner dance with it’s roots in Lindy Hop, the dance allows for both partners to improvise steps while dancing together.

West Coast Swing is currently sweeping the states, with 1 in 4 dances now played a West Coast Swing – It’s a great dance to begin your “dancing career” or simply add as another style to your repertoire. Donahey’s West Coast Swing classes are for absolute beginners and no experience is needed, emphasis is on the basic steps and the lead and follow.

Dancing is a great way to learn a new skill and meet lots of interesting people and in the end of being able to show off on the dance floor with your new stylish moves. Class is £6

Questions & Answers

Do I need a Partner?

No, as we partner people up and change partners throughout the night, making it a fun & sociable atmosphere. If you join as a group of friends, we may ask you to partner each other up – this way it’s more fun for you all & you can practice with each other when you’re out & about!
