Our dance breaks come highly recommended and are a great chance to learn to dance, improve your dancing, try new styles, learn new steps or develop your technique. This isn’t a dance break organised by a holiday company with some dancing thrown in – this is an exclusive break starring Karen Hardy from BBC Strictly Come Dancing – organised by the dance experts.
Karen Hardy has achieved in the dancing world what most dancers can only dream off; Karen was undefeated, United Kingdom, International, British National, Open Italian, London Open, Osaka World Trophy Champions of Latin American Dance and Winner Of World Masters Championships.
Karen has been involved with Strictly Come Dancing since 2005, most notably being crowned champion of series 4 when she was partnered with England Cricketer Mark Ramprakash, past partners include TV Presenter Bill Turnbull, Celebrity Chef Gary Rhodes, Heavyweight Boxing Champion Evander Holyfield & of course Coronation Street star Brian Capron.
Karen appears each week on Strictly Come Dancing as our new ‘Red Button Strictly Expert’ and of course sits on the It Takes Two sofa each week to review the week’s performances.
Last year saw Karen open her prestigious Chelsea Dance Studios, training the world’s most talented dancers.

On Saturday afternoon, Karen will host two 80-minute dance workshops. Just let us know your dancing ability and we’ll book you in the correct level workshop. Remember taking part in the workshop is completely upto you, and you don’t need any experience for our beginners workshop.
The Donahey’s family have been organising spectacular dance events and teaching children & adults across Manchester to dance for over 43 years. We pride ourselves on the quality of all our classes and events. Our hugely successful events with the stars of BBC Strictly Come Dancing are now in their 7th year – we thoroughly enjoy them and we go out of our way to ensure our customers do too.

Our dance break is designed for enjoyment for everyone, whether you’ve never stepped foot on a dance floor before and want to sit back, enjoy the shows and meet the stars, or if your an experienced dancer and want to take part in the workshops & evening dancing. The level of your participation is entirely your decision, you can join in the workshops & dancing, or none at all – the choice is completely yours!
The daytime is casual, the evening Black Tie – look your best for some fab pictures with the stars!
For dancing; on your feet something comfortable, dance shoes or flattish shoes preferably not trainers. No high heels, flip flops, steel heels or toe caps please.
Your rooms will be available anytime from 3pm onwards; you are welcome to enjoy the hotels first class leisure facilities throughout the days on both Saturday & Sunday.
Saturday evening we will of course be laying on coaches from the hotel to transport everyone across to Dukinfield Town Hall and back. Guests are of course welcome should they prefer to make their own way to & from Dukinfield Town Hall if they so wish. The two venues are located within a short 5min drive of each other.
For the afternoon workshops, please make your own way to Dukinfield Town Hall, then you are free to leave straight after the workshops.
Workshops will be offered at Beginner or Intermediate level in Latin American dancing.

Sure, it’s absolutely fine for you to split for the dance lessons/workshops, no problem at all – just let us know on your booking form. We do get some people do that, we wouldn’t though be able to accomodate both of you taking each others lessons as well.
Our dance break is designed for enjoyment by everyone and regularly attracts a mix of all ages so you can be sure of a fun time – some families bring along 3 generations!

If you would like to book additional night’s either side of your break, you should book these asap directly with the Village. Then, no sooner than 6-weeks prior contact the hotel directly and request they link both of your bookings – that way you will not need to change rooms.

There’s going to be lots of great photo & autograph opportunities during the evenings so make sure you don’t forget your camera!
To reduce the time you are queuing and to increase your enjoyment of the remainder of the evening; following the showcases we are introducing a system whereby guests will be invited by table number for photo’s & autographs with the stars. Please hang fire until your table has been invited, your co-operation with this will be really appreciated and hopefully this should work to allow for the better enjoyment of the rest of the evenings for you.
Yes, well-behaved, accompanied children are very welcome to take part and enjoy our dance weekend in full. However, children may not be left unaccompanied at workshops or evening dances whatsoever and parents or guardians must accept full responsibility for the supervision of their children at all times.
