Dance your way to fitness in 2010 – Get yourself into the Salsa vibe and learn to dance to the infectious rhythms of Shakira, Black Eyed Peas, J Lo, Ricky Martin, Enrique, Gloria Estefan & more. The music is fun and flirtatious, with infectious rhythms to fill any dance floor with smiling faces.

Enjoy expert dance tuition in Tameside’s most prestigious ballrooms, our easygoing relaxed adult beginners Salsa courses run for 12 weeks and partners aren’t essential. During these weeks we’ll teach you all the basic steps of Salsa, plus we’ll introduce you to some of the cool Latino rhythms of Merengue, Bachata, Salsaline & Zouk-Lambada. Brand new 1-hour absolute beginner courses commence:

Once we receive your payment your place is confirmed and you can commence your course. So you don’t miss out, if you are unable to make your regular Salsa class you are more than welcome to come along to any class that same week as we will be teaching exactly the same moves for the whole week, alternatively if you completely miss a week you can double up the following week with two classes.

If you are planning a vacation holiday during your 6-weeks just let us know in advance, and we will carry those weeks forward for you.

Course Information

Not only is Salsa really good fun to learn, but it’s also a great workout for the whole body especially the waist, legs & bum. Plus we’ll also teach you Merengue, Cuban Cha Cha, Bachata & Salsaline……all great fun!! Our easygoing relaxed beginners course runs for 12 weeks with expert tuition, partners aren’t essential. Even if you’ve got two left feet the moves are easy to follow. So go for it…it’s such fun you’ll want to do it again & again and after just a month you’ll feel fitter & sexier!

Our beginners Salsa course lasts for 12 weeks in total. Once you’ve completed your first 6 weeks of the course, hopefully you’ll have enjoyed yourself & will sign back in for the following 6 weeks of the course. Your 6-week consecutive block commences the week you begin the course. Unfortunately though, missed/lost weeks other than for vacation holidays are strictly non transferable.

Once you’ve completed your 12 weeks you should be ready to move through to our 18 week Improvers course. If however you feel you would like to stay in beginners for a review of some of the moves you’re more than welcome to. Or if you feel you would like to progress quicker, you are welcome to jump up to the next level it’s up to you.

So you’ve taken the plunge and completed our 12-week Salsa beginner course, what’s the next step?

We have some great 18-week Salsa improver courses exclusively for Donahey’s members running at each of our venues. Offering you natural progression, the courses are especially designed for those who have learnt the basic Salsa steps, building on your knowledge, developing core routines, rhythm, leading & style. We have a rolling continuous improver programme so you can join the course at anytime, payment is still the same in 6-week consecutive blocks priced at £38.

Questions

Do I need a Partner?

No, as we partner people up and change partners throughout the night, making it a fun & sociable atmosphere. If you join as a group of friends, we may ask you to partner each other up – this way it’s more fun for you all & you can practice with each other when you’re out & about!

I’ve never danced before can I simply come along anytime?

All our classes are especially designed for beginners so don’t worry about that, just choose the next course start date & book your place.

I’ve done a little salsa before, is it suitable?

We also have Intermediate & Advanced classes at the same time so you can choose your exact level and join in the class of your choice.

What shall I wear?

Something comfortable, flattish shoes preferably not trainers. No high heels, flip flops, steel heels or toe caps please.

How long does the lesson last?

Around an hour, with a little practice time thrown in after!
